Find out to work up a healthy yusheng from NUH chief dietitian, Dr Lim Su Lin who created the unique dish!
Make a couple of easy swaps to toss away the unneeded calories:
1. Change the maintained components (e.g. maintained melon, ginger lime strips) with fresh vegetables and fruits abundant in fiber, vitamins, anti-oxidants and minerals.
2. Switch the fried crispy crackers with baked cashew nuts which contains healthy monounsaturated fats and nutrients for radiant skin and hair.
3. Rather of combined cooking oil, which is high in bad hydrogenated fats, load up your yusheng with additional virgin olive oil that gets along to your heart.
4. Stay off the plum sauce as it is high in sugar and salt. Make your own dressing with 4 easy components (i.e. honey, sesame oil, lemon juice and lemon enthusiasm).
Components:.
1 turnip (aka mangkuang).
1 beetroot.
1 carrot.
1 Japanese cucumber.
6 pods of jackfruits (aka nangka).
2 persimmons (Sharon fruit chosen).
1/4 pineapple.
1 mango.
3 sections of red flesh pomelo.
200 grams of sashimi-grade salmon.
3 calamansi lime.
Dressing:.
3 tablespoon of lemon juice.
Some lemon enthusiasm.
100 ml of honey.
1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil.
Dressings:.
1 tablespoon sesame seeds.
1 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice powder.
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
A dash of white pepper.
1 big handful of baked cashew nuts.
2 tablespoons of additional virgin olive oil.
Preparation of components:.
Squeeze lime juice over the salmon to treat it. Cover the meal of the treated sashimi with stick wrap. Chill it to keep it fresh while you prepare the remainder of the components. Utilizing a rotary grater or julienne peeler, remove the skin and shred the turnip, carrot, beetroot and cucumber.
Peel the skin and cut the jackfruit, persimmon and pineapple into thin strips, and the mango into cubes. Get rid of the skin and hard white membrane to get 3 sections of pomelo. Squash the cashew nuts in a Ziplock bag with the bottom of a flat bowl or rolling pin.
Preparation of dressing:.
Integrate the sesame oil, honey, lemon juice and lemon enthusiasm in a bowl and blend them well. Recite advantageous expressions while including the veggies, fruits, dressings and dressing into a huge plate. Get your chopsticks all set to toss the yusheng high up in the air. Huat ah!
